OUR PASTOR: BISHOP TAVARIS LA KEITH JOHNSON, SR.
The Bishop Tavaris La Keith Johnson, Sr. was introduced to the world at the tender age of fourteen (14) when he expressed his first sermon on Sunday, August 20, 1995. He began his public preaching ministry under the tutelage of the late Reverend Adolph Thomas at his home church, Living Water Baptist in High Point, North Carolina. A native of Guilford County, North Carolina; Bishop Johnson was born on Tuesday, October 14, 1980, to Mother Mildred Nelson Johnson McRae and the late Deacon Daniel Calvin Glasgow. From the age of one years old and in addition to being nurtured in a Christian and loving home with his mother, Bishop Johnson was also raised by his stepfather, Mr. Patrick Michael McRae. He is the Godson of Evangelist Carrie Baker of Hamer, South Carolina and Mrs. Gladys Poteat of Milton, North Carolina. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1985 and received the call of God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1988. His parents, having concerns for his maturity and understanding of the Holy Writ, advised him through prayer and wise counsel to wait for the appointed time.
On Sunday, November 16, 1997, at Living Water Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina, Bishop Johnson received his Certificate of Ordination and became more advanced in the Gospel Ministry, as well as Baptist doctrine. Bishop Tavaris Johnson worked diligently to assist his Pastor in ministry. Soon after his Pastor’s retirement, he became the Senior Pastor of Living Water Baptist Church in October 2000 with a unanimous vote of its membership. After receiving instructions from God, this Mighty Man of God accepted the awesome assignment of organizing New Dimension Community Christian Center in High Point, North Carolina on September 15, 2004 and held his first service as founder on Sunday, September 19, 2004. In March 2018, He organized and established New Beginnings Community Christian Center in Yanceyville, North Carolina with his Co-Founder and Godmother Mrs. Gladys Poteat. Bishop Johnson worked as pastor of both New Dimension and New Beginnings with untiring effort and unwavering devotion until June 2015.
In November 2015, Bishop Johnson was called to pastor the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Cameron, North Carolina and preached his first sermon as their new pastor on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Bishop Johnson served faithfully until July 2019.
On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Bishop Tavaris Johnson was invited to the 151st Annual Session of the General Baptist State Convention in Durham, North Carolina as one of the Keynote Preachers who participated in the segment “Preaching Under 40.” Bishop Tavaris Johnson is a highly sought out preacher with a passion to usher the Kingdom of God into our next dimension.Bishop Johnson became a part of True Vine Churches of Deliverance (TVCOD) in the summer of 2010 where he was appointed as a Diocesan Bishop in the Greater Memorial Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction on August 9, 2011, during Holy Convocation at Macedonia Worship Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Currently he serves TVCOD and GMEJ in Ecumenical Affairs. He received a certificate of completion for Chaplain Associate Training on October 16, 2017, from First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
He received his license as A Notary Public from the Department of the Secretary of State of North Carolina on November 2, 2021. Bishop Johnson served The ACTS Fellowship International, Inc from August 9, 2017, until October 13, 2022. While a part of The ACTS Fellowship International, Inc., Bishop Johnson served in various capacities: Regional Bishop, International General Secretary, and Vice Presiding Bishop.
On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, during the global pandemic (COVID19), Bishop Tavaris Johnson was called to pastor the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 500 Sherman Street, Badin, North Carolina. He preached his first sermon as the new pastor of Mt. Zion outside on the lawn on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Within the first year of his pastorate at Mt. Zion, the mortgage debt was paid in full in December of 2021 and just before his third year as pastor of Mt. Zion the church was declared debt free in May 2023. To God be the glory! Bishop Johnson currently serves as the president of The Holy Week Association with five participating churches including Mt. Zion in the Badin and Stanly County Community: First Baptist Church—Badin, St. Luke Holiness—Badin, McDonald Chapel AME Zion Church—Badin, and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church—New London.
Bishop Johnson has been employed since October 8, 2018, with Central Carolina Physician Practices of Central Carolina Hospital—A Duke Life Point Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina. He works as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant in their Family Medicine, Sports and Orthopedic Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and Urology Clinics. He received his Certificate of Completion and License as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant in September 2022. Bishop Johnson is currently enrolled at Sandhills Community College in pursuit of his associate degree in nursing and plans to graduate in 2026.
Bishop Tavaris Johnson married Evangelist Whitnei Diarra Holman Johnson on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Macedonia Worship Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by Apostle Dr. Sylvester Davis Johnson. He is the proud father of three daughters Heavenly Ta’Vara Johnson-Barnes (23), Brittany Renee Johnson (18), and Ade’ya Serenity Holman (17); three sons Tavaris La Keith Johnson, Jr. (17), Michael Leon Johnson (15), and Prince Layden Josiah Johnson (10); he is the proud grandfather (Pawpaw) of Princess Sa’Rayah Monae Barnes (2 years old); and he is the god-father of Nyomi (3 years old and Braxton (6 years old).
On August 20, 2024, Bishop Johnson will reach another milestone of 29 years of ministry and 24 years in Pastoral Care. After all these years, Bishop Tavaris Johnson is still motivated in working to develop souls for the Kingdom of God. He preaches Christ and Him Crucified. We believe in the Father, we believe in the Son, and we believe in the Holy Spirit. Bishop Johnson is focused on being led by the Spirit of God as according to Romans 8:14.

EVANGELIST WHITNEI JOHNSON – FIRST LADY
First Lady Evangelist Whitnei Johnson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal
savior at an early age.
She began her music ministry in 2004 singing for weddings, funerals, conferences, revivals and
musical programs. In 2005 she traveled to Washington, DC and became well acquainted with
American Idol. The Greensboro News and Records labeled her as the American Idol Song Bird.
In 2008 she received the call of God into the Gospel Ministry but God said not yet, for the vision
is yet for an appointed time. (Habakkuk 2:3). On May 1st, 2010 Evangelist Whitnei Johnson
humbly yielded to the calling that was on her life when she expressed her first sermon.
Evangelist Johnson is a highly sought out preacher and she’s fulfilling the clarion call of God on
her life to be a fresh and anointed voice in this day and hour. Lives are being empowered and
impacted by the cutting edge approach to the Word of God she presents in her messages.
In 2012, she founded Total Restoration Outreach Ministries – Internet Social Network which is
empowering and changing the lives of many across the globe! She also hosted a weekly Radio
